From the well-known text of St. Paul to the Romans, on divine authority and its unquestionable authority , it is possible to analyze the relationship between Church and State in the Middle Ages. In that sense, this text intends to show a general view, from the historical and philosophical point of view, of these relations, emphasizing three historical moments: I) The Emperor Constantine (The Great): Image of the King and Savior. II) Charlemagne: Promotion of culture and harmony between the Pontificate and the Empire. III) The Crusades: Relationship between politics/religion and State/Church in the Middle Ages.
