Phenomenological sketch: difficulties of the symbolicapproach to the description of religious experience
Keywords:
Phenomenology, Religious Experience, Symbolic Approach, ReligionAbstract
The German theologian Anne Foerst proposes the possibility of an Artificial Intelligence that can live the religious experience or that can be religious; its symbolic approach proposes to understand religion as a mental state derived from specific religious objects, from which the question arises as to whether the artificial intelligence approach can address the religious dimension. This article, for its part, addresses this question from the phenomenology of Martin Heidegger to respond to the impossibility of artificial intelligence experiencing meanings or recognizing the referential meanings that underlie context. Thus, the position debated is that religious experience can be reduced only to a rite or a set of dogmas, but goesfurtherto referto a where ofthe experience, a referential meaning.
